Phase - 1 (Intake) We begin by going over the intake form that you have filled out, making note of specific problem areas you might have, set expectations, answer any lingering questions, and select music preference. default music playlist is here
Phase - 2 (Assessment) We then move onto a mobility/stability strength assessment to see if you are moving properly and effectively. I screen the ankle, knee, hips, low back, thoracic region, scapula (shoulder), and the neck. Inefficiencies in movement often are a source of pain along with the inability to limit unwanted motion.
"Without assessing you are really just guessing” - Me
Phase - 3 (Pretzel experience) We move into my personal favorite of the phases, the full body sports Thai active stretch hybrid flow made by myself. These are not all passive stretches/movements. Be prepared to give 100% intensity at times. Please wear comfortable clothes as you will be put into a variety of positions/poses. Active wear or loose breathable clothing is recommended.
Phase - 4 (Targeted Hands On) Using the knowledge gained from Phase 2, I move onto the targeted hands on work for your specific target areas. I will step out and ask you to undress to your comfort level. We will be in communication about pressure along with me asking you to hold certain positions, fight against resistance, and to perform certain movements. I will use cupping, scraping, ART, Kinesio, trigger point, Swedish, and more to alleviate problems.
Phase - 5 (Wind down) At the tail end of the session I will begin a short decompression. This includes warm towels where you choose whether you would like it to be placed on your face or the posterior part of the neck. This is followed by work on the temples, scalp, compression of the sagittal suture, work on the frontalis muscle of the forehead, the masseters of the jaw, sinus swipes, and finally a sustained cranial hold at the base of your skull.
Phase - 6 (Post session chat) After the session we will talk about future steps and how to combat your pain moving forward. I will also ask you to retest some of the screening that we did in Phase 2 to see what worked and what might not have. Scheduling the next session will be done here. Consistency is key. (Gratuity is appreciated, but never expected.)
